About this tool
Resize images to exact pixels, a percentage or a preset
Change an image’s dimensions without stretching it: type a width or height in pixels, scale by percentage, or fit a preset like 1920×1080 or 1080×1080. Free, and nothing ever leaves your browser.
The aspect ratio stays locked unless you unlock it, so photos never come out squashed. Shrinking is done in halving steps, which keeps text and fine detail sharp instead of jagged. Then crop, convert or compress the result in the same tool, or resize a whole folder at once.
- Free, no sign-up
- Nothing uploaded
- No watermark
Presets that fit, not stretch
HD 1920×1080, 720p, square 1080×1080, story 1080×1920, a 1200×630 social share image and an 800×800 thumbnail. Each fits your image inside the box and keeps its proportions.
Need a size in KB too?
Smaller dimensions already mean a smaller file. If a form wants the image under 100 KB or 2 MB, use Compress to a size afterwards and the tool finds the quality that fits.
Nothing leaves your device
The encoders are WebAssembly running in your tab, so your images are never transmitted. That is also why there is no account, no queue and no size limit, and why EXIF and GPS data are dropped: the file is re-encoded from raw pixels.

Tips for the best results
- Resize before you compressFewer pixels is the biggest saving there is: a 4000 px photo shown at 1000 px carries 16 times the pixels it needs.
- Match the display sizeAn image never needs to be wider than the space it fills. About 2000 px covers a full-width banner; an image inside an article rarely needs more than 1200 px.
- Batch with a presetWith several images loaded, pick a Fit within preset and every image in the queue is scaled to fit inside that box, each keeping its own proportions.
- Enlarging adds no detailScaling above 100% makes the image bigger but cannot invent detail, so it looks softer. Start from the largest original you have.

Questions
Common questions
Everything here runs in your browser, so the answer to “where does my file go?” is always: nowhere. More in the general FAQ.
How do I resize an image?
Drop the image on this page and type the new width or height in pixels; the other side follows to keep the proportions. Press Apply Resize, then Download.
How do I resize an image without losing quality?
Making an image smaller costs no visible quality: the tool shrinks it in halving steps so edges stay sharp. Save as PNG for a lossless file, or as JPEG or WebP at quality 80 or more. Making an image larger always softens it, because no resizer can add detail that was never captured.
How do I resize an image to exact dimensions like 1080×1080?
If the image is already that shape, type the width and the height follows. If it isn’t, crop it to the right shape first (Crop has a 1:1 lock), then resize, so nothing is stretched. A Fit within preset instead scales the image to fit inside the box with its proportions kept.
How do I resize an image to a file size in KB?
Pixels and kilobytes are different things. Resize to the dimensions you need, then open Compress and switch to Target size: type 100 KB, 500 KB or any size and the tool finds the highest quality that fits. The compress to a size tool opens there directly.
Can I resize many images at once?
Yes. Drop them together, then pick a Fit within preset: every image in the queue is scaled to fit inside that box, keeping its own proportions, and the set downloads as one ZIP.
What size should an image be for Instagram, a website or an email?
Instagram: 1080 px wide, so 1080×1080 for a square post and 1080×1920 for stories and reels. Website: up to about 2000 px for full-width images and 1200 px inside an article. Email: 600–1200 px wide keeps messages light.
What is the largest image I can resize?
Up to 16000 pixels per side and roughly 80 megapixels in total, the limits browsers allow for a single image. Within that there is no file-size cap.
Is the image resizer free, and are my images uploaded?
It is free, with no sign-up, watermark or limit, and nothing is uploaded: resizing runs in your browser on your own device.
